Miss Lebanon 2015

Much to the pride and adoration of Lebanese citizens everywhere, the beautiful Valerie Abou Chakra took fourth in the 65th Annual Miss World beauty pageant, held this year in Sanya, China. Chakra, who was crowned Miss Lebanon just a few short weeks before the international event took place on November 21st, bested 106 other young women from around the world to narrowly miss 2nd Runner Up honors.

A favorite to win this year’s Miss World competition and the first Lebanese contestant to place in the Top 5 of the competition, Valerie Abou Chakra is widely recognized throughout her home country for her roles as an actress, radio announcer, and model. A student at the Lebanese American University (LAU), she led the competition’s viewer polls (likely due to strong support from her fellow countrymen and countrywomen) and received the competition’s highest interview score.

“I think that modesty and love and serenity is what the world needs more these years,” said Chacra during her one-on-one interview. “Miss World should have these qualifications in order to spread them all around the world. I promise to use all the energy inside me to draw smiles on other faces.”

Despite Miss Chakra’s strong showing and obvious beauty, she placed behind Indonesia’s Maria Harfanti (2nd runner up), Sofia Nikitchuk of Russia (1st Runner Up), and the competition’s winner, Miss Mireia Lalaguna of Spain. Still, congratulations are in order for this poised and gorgeous individual who represented her country admirably!
